FAQ
How much should I pay for a business valuation?
There's no universal price because the right fee depends on your business's complexity and the purpose of the report, not a flat rate you can look up.
Rather than shopping by price alone, think about what you actually need the valuation to withstand. A straightforward valuation for internal planning or a preliminary sale discussion requires less analytical depth than a report headed to the IRS, a court, or an SBA lender, and the fee reflects that difference. Complexity drivers include the number of years of financials to analyze, the quality and completeness of your records, whether the business holds multiple entities or minority interests, and how much market and comparable-transaction research the engagement requires. Note that factors like your industry's risk profile or the company's revenue size affect the concluded value, not the cost of preparing the report; the fee is driven by scope, not outcome.
At Equity Business Valuation Services, engagements are quoted as a fixed fee after we scope your specific assignment, never billed hourly, so you know the total cost before work begins. We provide valuations for:
- M&A and transaction support
- Estate tax and succession planning (Forms 706 and 709)
- SBA and lending requirements
- Litigation and shareholder disputes
- Minority and fractional interest valuations
- Financial reporting and compliance
Every report is prepared in accordance with USPAP, and our appraisers hold credentials with organizations such as the ASA, AICPA (ABV), and CFA Institute. For a fee tailored to your Oklahoma business and its purpose, see our business valuation pricing or request a valuation directly.
